Life can change in the blink of an eye!  This picture is a perfect example of that.  Just a couple of minutes after taking this shot, Jaxon (or Marley as we lovingly call him) broke free from his leash and took off down the beach, running as fast as he could.  Of course, Britt and I were right behind him.  The scene was not exactly as cute as it was on the movie, Marley and Me.   Not that real life can't be cute, I just don't look anything like Jennifer Anniston, and Hollywood isn't beating down my door to offer my any movie deals.  Never say never!

Just a few short weeks following our trip to Galveston, we loaded up a truck of all of our belongings and moved to Nebraska. Yes, Nebraska.   Because I grew up here, that's why.  We were both looking for some new adventures and did we ever find them!  We'll try to share some tidbits as they come along.  Needless to say, we're enjoying the ride.

I grew up in a family with six kids.  My parents always saw to it that we ate dinner together as a family.  I can still remember many of the dinner conversations.  Family gatherings, whether we were together to celebrate a holiday or a birthday, would always be end up in the kitchen.  We come from a long line of great cooks so it's no wonder that Britt and I share a passion for cooking.  We decided to start this blog not only as a way to share part of our lives with our family and friends in Texas, but also as a way to sharpen up our cooking skills.  If the truth be told, Britt is a far better baker than I am.  She's not afraid to try different things.  I usually stick with the tried and true dishes that I know.  I'm working on stepping out of the box.  Even I'm curious to see how I do.

We hope you enjoy spending time with us here.  Oh, in case your wondering, we did catch up with Jaxon.  He made the transition from Texas dog to Nebrask dog just fine.  Just like the rest of us.
